Ideal for Containers and the Front of the Border!

This Dwarf Bearded Iris blooms early, spoiling you for the rest of the season!
The adorable face of this Dwarf Bearded Iris will fill your heart with absolute joy! Unlike every other bloom in the garden, it combines a peach "face" with coral beards, veins and spots of reddish-violet, fuchsia accents and gold edges. Wow!

Absolute Joy is an Iris pumila variety from renowned grower J.T. Aitken. It is a fragrant, deer resistant, and butterfly-attracting species. The gray-green foliage grows in compact clumps 10 to 14 inches wide and about 11 inches high. The leaves grow in an attractive sword-like form. Expect this award-winner to bloom from mid to late season, about a month before the Tall Beardeds, starting in mid-spring in most climates.

Absolute Joy descends from two fine Dwarf Bearded varieties: Tiny Titan and a Pele variety. This little Iris is a delight in the front of borders, in beds, or even creeping across a woodland garden.

Plant Absolute Joy in full sun, spacing plants at least 6 inches apart. (Like all Iris, it spreads over time, so width measurements are always estimates.) This plant will tolerate soil that is dry, moist, sandy, slightly acidic, or slightly alkaline, so long as it is well drained. It makes a fine choice as a foreground planting to the larger Tall Beardeds, as well as among Daffodils and Daylilies. Have fun finding new places to show off its pretty face! Zones 3 to 8.
