A superb cutflower, it blooms best in partial shade.

Unusual bronzy-gold petals surround a brick-red cup.
A true classic that no Daffodil lover should be without, 'Ambergate' is an unusual combination of colors: deep bronzy golden and brick red on large, very eye-catching blooms. An excellent cutflower, it is always a show-stealer in the garden, and actually achieves its best flower colors in a bit of shade.

These large-cupped blooms (Division 2) arise in late midseason (mid-spring in most climates) on plants just 14 to 16 inches high. Very long-lasting after cutting, they also create interest in the garden.

Like all Daffodils, 'Ambergate' is left alone by nibbling deer and other creatures, and naturalizes magnificently over time. It needs well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, but requires almost no maintenance to return reliably for many years. Also striking in containers, it is a classic color pattern no garden should be without! Zones 3 to 8.
