Tops for Huge Yields of Delectable Late-season Berries!

Thornless and so generous with fruit!
Plant Patent 11,865

'Apache' is a premier name in blackberries, and whether you've grown this fruit before or are a novice, you'll find it low maintenance, dependable, and simply delicious. Developed by the University of Arkansas from the old favorite 'Navaho,' this late-ripening variety sets larger fruit in tremendous quantities on thornless, erect plants that adapt to a wide range of climates. Who could ask for anything more?

Reaching 6 feet high and about 2 to 3 feet wide, this shrub quickly establishes in the sunny garden, setting white to pale pink flowers in late spring, followed by extra-large, glossy dark purple to black fruits. Because it flowers and fruits late, it misses many of the late frosts that damage earlier varieties. And the yields are simply tremendous!

'Apache' is thornless as well, which simplifies harvesting. The conical fruit is firm yet juicy, holding well and absolutely delicious whether eaten fresh, canned, or frozen. You will love this ultra-reliable, high-performing blackberry! Zones 5-8.
