Azalea Girard Crimson
Expect the blooms to last about a month!
Just 3 feet tall and not quite as wide, Girard Crimson is compact enough for containers, but makes a big impact in any garden setting. The foliage is long and tongue-shaped, with a glossy sheen that keeps pests and diseases at bay. Once a light frost touches these leaves in fall, they burnish bright shades of golden, copper, amber, and red!
But the best part is the blooms. Each is just about 2½ inches wide, and they're held in clusters all over this neat little shrub. Expect them to begin in mid-spring and continue for about a month. Red Azaleas are always showy, and this rosy-crimson blend is particularly striking. You're going to love it!
Like most other Azaleas, it thrives in afternoon or dappled shade everywhere but the far north, where it is best in full sun. A delightful choice to march up the driveway, punctuate the shrub border, or fill containers for the patio and back steps. Zones 5-9.
