Bean Borlotto Solista
Each 9-inch pod contains 8 or 9 kidney-shaped beans of creamy white with pink flecks, very meaty and easy to store.
This pole-type (vining) plant sets masses of 9-inch long pods over a very long and productive season. The pods are slender and cream-colored with heavy maroon striping and streaking. Each contains 8 or 9 kidney-shaped seeds of creamy white flecked with pink. Scrumptious!
To harvest the beans as hard shells, let them dry completely inside the pods on the plants. Pick them when most of the leaves have fallen from the plants, and the seeds within the pods are hard and unyielding to the touch. (The days to maturity refers to when the beans are young and tender.) Pkt is 50 seeds.
