Calliope® Lavender Rose Geranium Plants
Semi-trailing, Semi-mounding Habit!
You simply won't believe the color show Calliope® has in store for you! This revolutionary Geranium is a breeding breakthrough, with fantastic flowering all summer long, better tolerance of heat and drought than older varieties, and a versatile semi-trailing, mounding habit! Whether you're an old hand at Pelargonium or a novice to this wonderful annual, you've got to give Calliope® a whirl this season!
Calliope® is a cross of ivy-leaved types, which are trailers most often used in hanging baskets and windowboxes, and zonal types, which are mounders more frequently found in planters and flowerpots. It reaches 12 to 14 inches high and can spread (or trail!) up to 20 inches. The foliage is bright green, and the flowers are a unique shade of fuchsia. They're nothing short of eye-catching from way across the garden.
Best of all, Calliope® begins flowering in late spring or early summer and keeps on going, right through the hottest, driest weather when other Pelargoniums rest. You will be amazed at its resilience. It never needs deadheading to continue tossing up new blooms for months!
Calliope® also does a great job of bouncing back from rain, which is a real boon in climates where late-afternoon thunderstorms are a daily occurrence all summer long. The foliage stays fresh and pretty, the blooms remain full, and the plant looks as good in late August as it did in May!
