Use the leafy green tops as filler for indoor bouquets -- it is long-lasting and lovely.

This crisp, refreshing, slightly peppery bite boasts great concentrated flavor.
78 days. If you haven't tasted Safir, it's fair to say you haven't really tasted Celery yet! This unusual variety boasts much more concentrated flavor in every stalk, for a bite that is not only crisp and refreshing but very peppery and zesty. And the tops are distinctive -- leafy and full, with an attractive presence that makes good filler for indoor arrangements and is quite long-lasting (several weeks!) in the vase.

The plant measures about 12 to 14 inches high, with many slender stalks. A cutting type, it can be harvested as needed, so you never waste a bit! Use these flavor-packed stalks in soups and salads, sprinkle the colorful tops for garnish, or dry for use during the winter months.

For best flavor and heaviest yields, keep Safir fed and watered well throughout the growth period. You will love the results! Packet is 250 seeds.

Easy to Grow, Great taste!
Karen from NM wrote (October 15, 2011):
I planted this celery around one of my container avocados. I ate a couple stalks every day. It's tiny stalks, but great taste! Come summer when the container went outside, the plants took off. In the end I had to pull them up because they were taking all the water and the avocado was looking sad. But, the pulled-up plants didn't die, even after I cut off their roots to throw into my compost, so I brought them in and planted them in a huge pot that had only an aloe. They look happy as can be, and I'm set for more celery all winter.
Great flavor !

It taste like the celery from my childhood whenever my grandmother was cooking !!! A lot of flavor you can't compare to the celery that you can find in the store. You can use it in soups and cabbage salad with carrots !!! AAA+ from me
