These heat-tolerant annuals are popular as a cut flower for both fresh and dried arrangements. The Sparkler series is in the celosia group that produces long, feathery plumes. Space them close (about 4 inches apart) for single-stemmed cut flowers; space them 10 to 12 inches apart for full plants with well-developed side branches and multiple flower spikes?without pinching! Thrives in full sun and hot weather if planted in moist, well-drained soil. Does well in containers or sunny borders. Blooms late summer into fall. Plants are 24 inches tall by about 12 inches wide. Celosia argentea var. plumosa. Germination is about 10 days.
Seed packets are overpacked by as much as 20%. Packet is normally 100 seeds.
