Coleus Dark Chocolate
Fear not the heat of the sun -- this chocolate-leaved wonder certainly doesn't!
Neat and well-branched (especially if you pinch the growing tip a few times when the seedlings are young), this coleus reaches 12 to 14 inches high and about 12 inches wide -- a nice size for containers as well as the garden! At some point it will set tiny flowers on tall stems, but these don't do much for its looks, and can be snipped off. You don't want anything blocking the view of those velvety chocolate-brown leaves!
Happy to grow in full sun if given plenty of water, this adaptable coleus also smolders in the shade. It looks good from the moment its tiny new leaves emerge (already brown and scalloped!) 'til hard frost. And that's something no flowering annual can equal! Pkt is 15 pelleted seeds.
