Dwarf Forsythia Golden Peep™ PP#13,050
All the early-spring color you love, in a more manageable size!
This dwarf Forsythia is just 2½ feet tall and between 2 and 3 feet wide, so you can pop it alongside the walkway or driveway as edging, ring the sunny beds with dazzling color, or dot it among the spring-flowering bulbs. Every inch of these profuse, tangled stems is laden with brightest gold for several weeks early in the season, for a color impact just as impressive as much larger varieties, because it's so dense and concentrated!
Small enough to grow in your favorite containers and place exactly where you want, Golden Peep™ also has one more very important trick up its sleeve (or should I say "stem"?) ? it blooms the first year! No other Forsythia I've ever encountered treats you to such an early and profuse display!
Once the blooms pass, Golden Peep™ keeps looking good, with soft green foliage and a tidier habit than its rangy old cousins. Try it among dark-leafed shrubs such as Weigela and purple-foliaged perennials like Coral Bells. It doesn't take up much space, and needs almost no attention at all to keep growing and blossoming beautifully for many years!
Space these plants 2 feet apart in any well-drained soil. Golden Peep™ prefers full sunshine, but tolerates dappled shade, and doesn't mind hot, humid summers or poor soil. You'll find it cold hardy and very reliable! Zones 5-9.
