Fifty-fifty Oriental Lily
Fragrant, colorful, and profuse -- perfect for garden and vase!
You will love the look, scent, and staying power of these blooms. Measuring 3 to 6 inches wide (they increase in size as the plant matures over several years), these double-flowered beauties open a shade of sulfur-yellow with hints of green, becoming richer yellow as they mature. The scent is sweet, pervasive, and irresistible, filling the midsummer garden with welcome fragrance and perfuming the entire house from even one or two cut blooms. Expect these flowers to last several weeks on the stem or in the vase.
Orienpet Lilies are the lifework of breeder Judith Freeman, who combined the best characteristics of the Oriental and Trumpet hybrids to develop a strain of fragrant, strongly-colored, reblooming Lilies. Fifty-fifty is the first double-flowered we have seen to demonstrate the full flower power and vigor of the original single-flowered varieties, and we welcome it as a breakthrough for gardeners. Its growers have hinted that it has such luminaries as Belladonna and Conca d'Or in its background, explaining the unusual yellow color. Fabulous!
Fifty-fifty is also redefines "vigorous" in Lilies. These plants reach 3 to 4 feet high within a single season, and return each year slightly taller, better-branched, and often more floriferous than before, with larger blooms over time. Zones 5-9. Pack of 3 bulbs.
