First Editions® Delta Blues™ Chaste Tree
Aromatic Bluish-purple Flowers Appear on New Growth in Summer
Delta Blues™ adapts well to most conditions, accepting either acidic or alkaline soils, as long as the area is well-drained. This salt- and drought-tolerant tree grows to a height and width of 8 to 10 feet, making it far more manageable than the species and more conducive to garden settings. It's a great choice for a variety of applications, from mass plantings to landscape specimens, and it even makes a good understory planting as it doesn't grow too tall.
Delta Blues™ can be planting any time and has a medium growth rate. It prefers morning sun and afternoon shade. We recommend placing is somewhere you'll be able to enjoy its color as well as its fragrance and the hummingbirds and butterflies it will attract. For best results, feed a slow-release fertilizer once a year. Zones 6-9.
