Burgundy Tones in Autumn!

Smaller than many Oakleafs, it is a very heavy bloomer.
Plant Patent Applied For. Cultivar Name: 'Brenhill'

Also known as 'Snow Princess' because of the abundant white blooms on long, graceful panicles, Gatsby's Gal™ is a compact Oakleaf Hydrangea with blooms that are anything but! 12 inches long (or more), these panicles of white blooms make a very impressive show, especially in groups, where they appear to create a foot-thick snow bank atop of this bush in midsummer. Named as a "Must-Grow New Shrub for 2014" by Better Homes and Gardens Magazine , it is easy to see why this little darling is so popular!

The moderate size of Gatsby's Gal™ also makes it a gorgeous addition to the back of the border or to your home's foundation. The tasteful white blooms will complement almost any other plant in the landscape, making this Hydrangea exceptionally versatile. And if you don't have 5 to 6 feet of space for Gatsby's Gal™ to reach its full height, you can prune it to keep it tidy and (even) more compact.

This native blooms in midsummer, but its flowers remain striking well into cool weather, acquiring new hues in autumn. Both the fall foliage and the white blooms take on a burgundy tinge for a flush of late-season interest.

Gatsby's Gal™ is adaptable, working well with most soils, as long as it is well-drained and gets some sun. In the south it prefers some shade, and in the north it likes full sun and some shelter from the chilliest winds. If pruning is desired, do it in late fall after the blooms pass; this shrub blooms on old wood. The enormous white blooms are resolute, appearing reliably each year regardless of climate or soil pH! Zones 5 to 9.
