By far the best Exbury hybrid!

Gibraltar is hardier even than other deciduous Azaleas and very mildew-resistant.
'Gibraltar' is an exceptional Exbury hybrid boasting huge trusses of flat, 2 1/2-inch flowers with broad, charmingly fringed, coppery orange-red petals. A mid-season bloomer and very heavy budder, it is unusually hardy, richly fragrant, and easy to grow.

All of our outstanding deciduous Azaleas are large flowered, deliciously fragrant plants that add a new dimension to Azalea colors. Easily grown and quite rugged, these beauties are highly mildew-resistant. 'Gibraltar' is so exceptional that it was given Rhododendron of the Year honors in 2007 by the American Rhododendron Society (ARS). It reaches 6 feet high and 4 feet wide. Full sun only in zones 5 and 6. Part shade in zones 7 and 8. Zones 5-8.
