Globe Amaranth All Around Purple

All Around Purple is a brilliantly colored bloom about an inch wide and shaped something like a very fat strawberry. It arises on stiff stems (just made for cutting!) all summer long, with a fully-blooming plant a sea of eye-catching grape! Grow it alongside Globe Amaranth Strawberry Fields Forever for an eye-popping display of bold color!

Unlike many Globe Amaranths, which are rather weedy and sparse, All Around Purple is a fat, bushy little plant 2 feet tall and 12 to 18 inches wide. Even if you don't cut many of your garden flowers, grow All Around Purple just for the garden display. It's ideal for containers, too, billowing up and out with a symmetrically round, full silhouette!

And All Around Purple has a much longer "vase life" than most other Globe Amaranths. While the bright color fades from many other varieties after a few months, All Around Pruple becomes, if anything, even more intense over time. What a boon for those hardworking outdoor Everlasting arrangements (such as door wreaths and sun porch decorations), that tend to lose color so quickly!

Easy to grow in the sun-drenched garden, this plant is wonderfully resistant to both heat and drought, keeping its blooms and its fresh foliage looking neat and colorful through the worst excesses of August.
