Highbush Blueberry Southern Varieties
Compact 4- to 5-foot Southern Highbush plants.
Southern Highbush blueberries are a magnificent ornamental edible! They bear white flowers in spring, glossy leaves in summer, spectactular foliage in fall, and bright red stems in winter. These blueberries would be highly sought even if they didn't give you all those huge harvests of luscious berries!
Blueberries are easy in full sun and most acidic soils. (The rule of thumb is that where Azaleas will grow, so will blueberries!) They are vigorous, need no pruning, and are generally untroubled by disease.
