Unsurpassed for mass color in those hard-to-fill shady landscape spots, Shady Lady is one of American gardeners' favorite Impatiens, and this rich violet is an unusually strongly-colored shade for the Impatiens family. The blooms radiate cool, deep color in the shade, and are spectacular when planted with pink, red, or white Shady Ladies. These 2-inch blooms arise over a long season beginning in early summer and ending with frost. The 12- to 15-inch-tall plants are bushy and neat, needing neither pruning nor clean-up, and both the blossoms and their stems are weather-resistant and sturdy. Shady Lady begins blooming in early summer and keeps coming all the way to frost, right through the worst excesses of summer weather. In southern areas, it has been known to overwinter.
