Lake Michigan Dahlia
Tolerant of a wide range of soil types and situations.
This Dahlia reaches a mature height of 30 to 32 inches and a width of 18 to 24 inches. It's tolerant of a wide range of soil types and situations, but performs best in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Its foliage is dense and low-growing, so it makes a wonderful addition to beds and borders. And of course, it's a highly valued cut flower!
Even if you live far north of its hardiness range, you can enjoy the beauty and ease of Dahlias in the garden. The tubers are easy to lift before first frost and store in a cool, dry, dark place during winter before re-planting in spring. Start them indoors under plant lights for an even longer season of beautiful blooms!
