Tolerant of a wide range of soil types and situations.

A must-have for the cut garden!
Every cut garden deserves this magnificent beauty! 'Lake Michigan' bursts into bloom from midsummer to mid-fall, flaunting large, decorative, 6-inch flowers that are a sumptuous mixture of lavender, cream, and gold. The attractive deeper lavender at the very center of the blossom comes from the petals that haven't opened yet, adding another layer of color and interest to the display. It's a truly dazzling flower in garden or vase!

This Dahlia reaches a mature height of 30 to 32 inches and a width of 18 to 24 inches. It's tolerant of a wide range of soil types and situations, but performs best in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Its foliage is dense and low-growing, so it makes a wonderful addition to beds and borders. And of course, it's a highly valued cut flower!

Even if you live far north of its hardiness range, you can enjoy the beauty and ease of Dahlias in the garden. The tubers are easy to lift before first frost and store in a cool, dry, dark place during winter before re-planting in spring. Start them indoors under plant lights for an even longer season of beautiful blooms!
