Provides Excellent Protection!
I planted my cold-hardy vegetable plants on April 1, 2011 under the collapsible plant protectors. I was able to start harvesting on June 1, 2011. I tracked the temperatures and elements that the plants were subject to and we found that the plants withstood 5 heavy and wet snows, wind gusts up to 52 MPH and temperature lows of 21 degrees. I didn't lose a plant or a protector during this time. Using the collapsible Plant Protectors allowed me to harvest before the insects could attack the plants. I was able to grow healthy organic vegetables without the use of insecticides. I removed the protectors when my vegetables started growing out the top. I used them again on my warm weather vegetable plants and seeds. This included my tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos. I put them over top of the seed mounds for my pumpkins, cucumbers and squash. I feel the added warmth helped speed up the germination of the seeds and kept them protected from the elements until the warmer weather set in. It was nice at the end
