Lettuce Gilad
Delectable flavor on vigorous, very uniform plants.
Very tolerant of heat, bolting, and tip burn, as well as resistant to Lettuce Mosaic Virus (LMV), Gilad is a great choice for beginning gardeners as well as those in warm climates. It grows quickly, with uniform (same-sized) heads of dramatically shaped leaves, packed with delicious flavor. Give it a try this season!
Lettuce thrives in cold weather and can be sown directly into the garden, starting in early spring. For an even earlier harvest, sow indoors; the seedlings don't mind transplanting. If a fall crop is desired, begin in late summer. Grow in single rows, plants spaced 18 inches apart, or in containers. Pkt is 200 seeds.
