Totally New Color Combo!
Giant vanilla puffballs with a dollop of caramel at the center last for 3 weeks or more on ultra-thick, sturdy stems! This is an exciting new color combination for Echinacea, and one that will wow you with its fully double, oversized, beautifully long-lasting blooms all season long!
These double blooms measure 3½ inches wide and almost as deep, and arise by the many dozen on mature plants that stand up to heat, humidity, drought, poor soil, and deer. Refusing to flop, the heavy flowers remain fresh and vibrant in garden or vase from early summer through early fall.
Butterflies love the flowers in summer and, after the petals drop in autumn, birds flock to feast on the seed-filled cones. Of course, you will want to pick many of these blooms for fresh or dried indoor arrangements, but leave a few for an autumn feast for the songbirds!
Milkshake reaches 30 to 36 inches high (quite compact for an Echinacea) and 24 to 36 inches wide. Like all members of its family, it tolerates heat, humidity, drought, poor soil, cold, and many other stressors. Generally left alone by pests and diseases, it is a carefree presence in the sunny border. Find a special place for this selection of our native wildflower this season, and look forward to many seasons of beautiful blooms! Zones 4-9.
