The glossy foliage is evergreen, while the huge double blooms are a boon in the Winter Garden!
'Moonshadow' is a C. sasanqua cultivar. The sasanqua species is known for its neat habit, glossy evergreen foliage, and its very early bloom time. Compared to C. japonica, sasanqua blooms are smaller, more numerous, and earlier, the profusion of 2- to 4-inch blooms opening to smother the branches in winter or even as early as fall! 'Moonshadow' is exceptionally beautiful for the species, with fully double white blooms edged in a blushing pink!
Sasanquas will tolerate a wide variety of soil conditions, but they really thrive in organically rich, acidic soil. Their shape tends to be naturally beautiful and relatively compact, making pruning unnecessary. If you choose to prune, do so in very early spring before the buds have formed. Broken shade is ideal: sasanquas will tolerate full sun well, but only if they stay well watered. Cannot ship to AZ, TN, or TX. Zones 7 to 9. 1 Quart.
