A spectacular all-season shrub.
Large blooms stand up to wind and rain.
Everything about this new National Arboretum introduction is ideal for the home garden. First, the size is much smaller and very dense, for a full, rounded, bushy look. Second, the huge 6½" inflorescences are held up and out, above the foliage, and keep their position even after rain and wind. Third, the blooms open pure white, then turn a rich pink, so that many shades are present at once on the shrub. Fourth, the large oakleaf-shaped foliage turns from dark green to rich reddish mahogany in autumn. A spectacular all-season shrub for the front of the border, foundation, and accent plantings. Zones 5-8.
