Insect-proof foliage!

A hard-to-find yellow-flowered variety!
A native Azalea, My Mary is a superbly compact shrub with a 3- to 4-foot spreading habit, extraordinarily fragrant soft yellow blooms, and leathery, insect-proof foliage. If you're looking for a foolproof shrub for spring color, rely on this vigorous Azalea!

Bred by the late George Beasley of Georgia, who named it in honor of his wife, My Mary has clear, bright yellow blooms, a very unusual shade in the Azalea family. But the most remarkable part is the scent -- it's sweet without being cloying, very strong, and absolutely irresistible!

Azaleas are superb for home plantings, boasting attractive foliage (often evergreen), excellent habit, and gorgeous flowers. They are lovely for foundation plantings, naturalizing in drifts in open woodland settings and mass plantings throughout the landscape for long-lasting interest.

Azaleas are shallow-rooted and should not be planted too deeply. Select a location somewhat protected from drying winds and winter afternoon sun. A cool, moist, acid soil (pH 4.5-6.5) is ideal, particularly if it contains a high percentage of organic matter to retain moisture. Do not fertilize at planting time, nor allow to dry out during long periods of summer sun. A coarse mulch, 2 or 3 inches deep to retain moisture and keep down weeds, is beneficial and will largely eliminate the need to cultivate, which is risky around shallow roots. Once established the plants require little care. Zones 4-8. One-gallon container. Cannot ship any Azalea to OR or WA.
