Organic Lettuce Rouge d'Hiver
The green leaves become tinged with bronze and then red as the weather grows colder.
These heads range from 8 to 12 inches high and about 4 to 5 inches wide, upright and tightly packed with delicious green leaves. Frost tints the tips of the leaves bronze and then red, only improving their plate appeal! Cut the leaves as you need them or harvest the entire head -- Rouge d'Hiver (the name means Red of Winter) is a robust garden performer!
Like all lettuce, this semi-cos prefers rich, loamy to sandy soil and full sun to partial shade in hot afternoons. Our seed is Certified Organic, boasting the authentic heirloom flavor and vigor, and we are delighted to make it available to you this season. Pkt is 1/32 oz.
