Ornamental Kale Crane Bicolor
Perfect for spring or fall!
It's no surprise to most gardeners that veggies can be as beautiful as flowering ornamentals, but Crane Bicolor and its cousins White Crane and Sunset really break new ground! The 3- to 7-inch rosettes look for all the world like a Rose. Held atop thick, sturdy stems, they are very long-lasting in the vase. And talk about showy! Plant them in your cutting garden or even in the veggie patch, then cut the blossoms for indoor decoration like no other!
Crane Bicolor reaches 2 feet tall and about 8 inches wide. It is a cool-season crop, equally suited for spring or fall. To grow larger "flowers," keep the lower leaves of the young plants trimmed, and feed generously until the heads begin to show their colors. Stake or otherwise support the heavy stems as they grow taller. Pkt is 25 seeds.
