Peppermint

Strongly aromatic peppermint can be used in both cooking - in drinks, salads, and baked goods - and in potpourri and other fragrant decorative items. In hot tea, it is said to help stomach upset.
This perennial grows to 3 feet tall and spreads rapidly to indefinate widths. The 3 inch smooth, lance-shaped, toothed leaves are tinged with purple around the edges. Oblong terminal spikes of lilac-pink flowers appear all summer.
Like other mints, peppermint is extremely easy to grow. In fact, it grows so well, it is best to confine it to containers. Grow in almost any soil conditions in sun or part shade, harvesting leaves all season long. Zones 4-9. Pkt is 100 seeds.

Just what I wanted
I like to start my garden entirely from seed to start off pest and disease-free. Started these seeds indoors on March 7 on top of a good seed-starting mix, covered and left them alone for 2 weeks. They germinated beautifully and I just potted them up April 1 into individual clumps that will be ready for transplant to outdoor containers in May! This makes the best peppermint herb tea! I had heard lots of people having trouble getting peppermint seeds to germinate but these were great!
