Native to Southeastern U.S.

'Tara' is best bronze variety of Muscadine.
Vitis rotundifolia 'Tara' bears small clusters of rich bronze fruits with a high sugar content (18%). Native to the southeastern U.S., this vigorous, large leaved vine grows to 20 feet or more. In autumn, the handsome green leaves turn soft shades of gold, adding to the ornamental appeal.

Round 1-inch fruits, ripening uniformly early to mid season, have thick skins and a very full-bodied, musky taste that has been appreciated in homemade wine for generations. We offer two highly productive, disease resistant, self-fertile varieties (no cross pollination required). Plant in full sun beside a trellis, fence, or other support. Zones 7-10. #1 Bareroot.
