A spectacular houseplant, and perfect for cutting.

No staking!
Ranunculus is among the most beautiful of all flowers, but can be intimidating to grow at home. Well, Magic Mix does away with those fears by sporting a dwarf habit, short-stemmed (but big) blooms, and a quicker finish time! Give it a whirl this season and we think you'll be delighted by the lush, bright, many-petaled opulence of this Persian Buttercup.

The flowers are fully double, absolutely jammed with petals held in a whorled pattern like Roses, but they are far, far longer-lasting. The colors include bright shades of red, rose, orange, yellow, pink, and white. They appear on 6- to 8-inch stems above the large green foliage of this neat little plant. Expect the plant to reach just 8 to 10 inches high and wide. You never need to stake these blooms!

And Magic Mix begins flowering just 12 to 14 weeks after sowing. It takes its time germinating -- 2 to 3 weeks -- and grows slowly for about 2 months, then starts setting buds. A fine houseplant in indirect light, it is trouble-free. If grown outdoors, it will bloom in spring. Packet is 10 seeds.

Was disappointed in these
Amy from SC wrote (April 23, 2012):
I bought these because I love ranunculus -- but next time I will try bulbs. The seeds did eventually germinate but didn't last long after that. I have started many flower seeds before and I'm not sure what went wrong with these, but wish I hadn't have paid $4.95 for 10 seeds only to have them all wither away. Perhaps I did something wrong -- but could use more direction if so, as I read all about growing ranunculus (bulbs) -- what makes these seeds different? As much as a magic dwarf variety sounds good, can we have a bulb variety? I usually love everything I get from Park Seed, but these just didn't grow well for me.
