Improved resistance to powdery mildew means that humidity and damp won't affect your yields!

Great holding ability!
47 days from sowing. Simply tops for storage and resistance to powdery mildew, these glossy deep green scallops are utterly delicious, too! Within the nutritious dark skin is succulent white flesh, maturing early and absolutely delectable.

This open-habit plant is easy to harvest, boasting few spines among the masses of uniform fruit. Its compact habit and very heavy yields make it a great choice for limited space gardens, and its child-friendly picking endear it to gardeners looking for good varieties for the family vegetable patch. Best of all, G-Star is utterly charming, with its flying-saucer fruit of shiny green!

G-Star is best direct-sown when the soil has warmed in spring. Sow the seeds about an inch deep, and expect to see sprouts in 7 to 10 days. Best in sandy soils exposed to full sunshine, the seedlings need soil that has been fertilized before they were sown, and again every 3 weeks until harvest. Space the plants about 2 feet apart, or if growing in hills, 3 to 3½ feet apart. That's all there is to it -- G-Star will grow like crazy! Pkt is 15 seeds.

Three Sisters
Twila Williamson from GA wrote (April 09, 2012):
Thank you so much for your article and information regarding the 3 sisters. Just recently, my children and I were reading in their Early American history lessons about the Native American's practice of planting in this manner. We discussed how to implement this into our own gardening. Imagine our nice surprise in seeing it mentioned in our 2012 Park Seed book and in finding such great practical information on your website. We are looking forward to giving it a try!
Great find

This squash had good flavor, with very few seeds. The squash was tender and versatile. I used it in any recipe that called for zucchini or any other summer squash. I will plant it again next year. Production seemed to stall in the heat, which isn't too unusual.
