Squash Sunburst Hybrid
Even end-of-season fruit is tender and very well flavored.
This AAS winner sports bright yellow "flying saucers" with green centers. The fruit measures 3 inches across and 2 inches "thick.
50 days. This AAS winner is tops for appearance as well as flavor, with bright yellow scalloped fruit marked in fresh green at both ends. The mild, buttery 3- by 2-inch fruits remain firm but very tender, even at full maturity.
Summer squash ripens during the hot summer months and, thin-skinned, is best eaten fresh. Sow seeds 1 inch deep directly into the garden after the danger of frost is past. Thin the seedlings to 24 inches apart, or plant several seeds in hills 4 feet apart and then thin to 2 plants per hill. (For even earlier harvests, start seeds indoors.) Pick when the fruits are still small (4 to 8 inches long). Pkt is 20 seeds.

Delicious!
Never had pattypan squash, and certainly never grew it before. Easy as pie, and both the blossoms and fruit are incredibly delicious, even right off the vne. Mild, sweet, crunchy when sautéed in a little olive oil, my daughter even asks for more. I was so excited about them I haven't even let them grow to full size yet. If I can contain myself long enough, I'll try them out but love it as is.
