Sunflower Double Dandy
Pollen-free blooms won't "shed" in the vase!
Double Dandy is as cute as a button . . . a very large button, that is. These blooms are wide, packed with richly-colored petals, and raring to go atop strong stems. Cut all you like for the vase; they're pollen-free, so you won't get masses of golden dust all over your tablecloth every morning!
Branching densely to about a foot wide, Double Dandy is a vigorous and floriferous plant. It thrives in exactly the same conditions other Sunflowers love: sunshine and plenty of it! For best results, direct-sow this seed in spring, when the soil warms up. A native American plant, Sunflower is not at all fussy about soil type or feeding. It's one of the easiest annuals to grow, and Double Dandy would make a stunning choice for a child's first garden!
If you love dwarf Sunflowers for containers, try Double Dandy alongside Cherry Rose, a traditional golden-petalled variety. Or plant it in the garden around the edges of the Sunflower stand, blooms of yellow Sunspot or the huge mahogany faces of Claret. Pkt is 25 seeds.
