As much as we love Sunflowers, there is no doubt that it can be a challenge to grow this gigantic native annual in our garden. We need space, and support, and not every gardener has these available. That's where dwarf varieties come into play -- you get all of the beauty with none of the height! Expect the varieties in this mix to top out at 3 -- occasionally 4, perhaps? -- feet high in full bloom.
You'll find all the Sunflower forms you love in this mix. There are the classic single yellow smiling faces, but also doubles and different looks. Get your vases ready for a summer-long parade of beauty!
Sunflowers are the kings of the natural sunny summer garden, attracting butterflies and birds. They're wonderfully easy to grow -- just direct-sow the large seeds after all danger of frost. Not picky about soil type, they need direct sun. Thin the plants to 10 to 18 inches apart so that they can show off their foliage a bit as they grow. Pkt is 50 seeds.
