Sunflower Soraya
Self-supporting 5- to 6-foot plants refuse to topple, even when loaded with big blooms!
These 4- to 6-inch flowers arise on long, strong 20-inch stems, held well above the lush foliage. They make a great sight in the garden, held straight up and facing the sun! And they're prized for cut arrangements, where they are long-lasting.
Sunflowers are the kings of the natural sunny summer garden, attracting butterflies and birds. They're wonderfully easy to grow--just direct-sow the large seeds after all danger of frost. Not picky about soil type, they need direct sun. Thin the plants to 2 to 4 feet apart so that they can show off their foliage a bit as they grow. Soraya will bloom in 11 to 13 weeks after sowing. Pkt is 25 seeds.
