Toad Lily 'Taipei Silk' PPAF
Continuous fall color from this easy-to-grow, exotic beauty!
Now here's a Toad Lily to fill those autumn weeks with nonstop color with an exotic flair! Not only are these blooms larger than those of other Tricyrtis vareities, but they're also much more abundant! You can't go wrong with 'Taipei Silk'!
The flowers reach 2 inches wide, with a dark purple base marked with lighter purple, white, and tiny red freckles! Each is distinctively beautiful, and they arise very freely on plants 25 inches high, 24 inches wide. Best of all, they arise continuously instead of in "waves" of bloom, so your plants will always have at least a few blooms at any given time in autumn!
This Toad Lily is an improvement over older varieties in so many ways! First, the foliage is thick, clean, and stands up well, with no flopping or discoloring. Second, the flowers are larger and there are more of them. Third, the flowering pattern is continuous instead of in waves. Developed by breeder Darrell Probst of Massachusetts, Raspberry Splash is simply all-around better than any before it!
Toad Lilies thrive in partial shade alongside Hosta, Anemone, Heuchera, and more. Give it rich soil and plenty of water, and it will delight you for years to come! Zones 5 (with winter protection) - 9.
