Verbena Homestead Purple
Heat and drought tolerant.
Verbenas are superb groundcovers, remarkable for their dazzling, extravagant color, extraordinarily long season, and superior performance even in hot, exposed locations and poor, dry soils. Available in a range of brilliant hues, they maintain a low, spreading habit that chokes out weeds in any well-drained soil.
That same habit makes them a unique choice for hanging baskets and containers. Verbenas are very easy to grow and quite heat and drought tolerant, growing the best in full sun. 'Homestead Purple' spreads well to make a lovely 6- to 10-inch-tall groundcover. Space 15 to 24 inches apart. Zones 6-9.
