Anastasia takes the Hyacinth's typical thick wand of blooms and splits it into nearly half a dozen flowering stems! Looser and wonderfully floriferous, this Giant Dutch Hyacinth offers a gorgeous new look for an old favorite.

These luscious violet-blue blooms face outward on long, slender but sturdy stems 8 to 10 inches high, sharing their rich color and sweet scent with the rest of the mid to late spring garden. Expect 4 to 5 stems from every bulb, all with the same staying power (up to 3 weeks!) that Hyacinth is famous for!

Anastasia boasts deep green foliage and even darker stems, acquiring almost a charcoal look that offsets the dark blue of the flowers beautifully. You will want to cut some for the vase, and this is another area where Anastasia improves upon the traditional look of Giant Dutch Hyacinth. Instead of having to cut the entire flowering wand, you can remove just one or two stems and still have a good color show for the garden as well as the vase!

Anastasia is a multiflora variety, with all the vigor you expect from H. orientalis. It reaches 8 to 10 inches high and spreads 4 to 6 inches wide, so space plants at least that far apart in the garden. A sun-lover, it favors rich soil, and needs good drainage to come back year after year. Plant it in your spring bulb garden, or let it nestle among the perennials, beginning the season early in that section of the garden. It's also a fine container choice.

Hyacinths are one of the easiest of all bulbs, and among the longest-lasting flowers. Cold-hardy through zone 4 in the north, they are trouble-free and very dependable. And they share their strong, enticing scent with the entire garden in spring! Stock up on this beautiful source of blue color and sweet fragrance today! Pack of 10 bulbs.
