Carrot Seeds

Grow the most popular vegetable for your plate.

Carrots are a staple in most gardens. They should be, as they are great eaten fresh out of the garden or in soups or casseroles or as a vegetable side dish. They are a great source of beta-carotene and antioxidants, and kids still eat them! Traditionally, carrots were orange and long. Not anymore!

Carrots come in varieties that are shorter as well. Some varieties of carrots are only going to grow half as long. Some are going to stay small like baby carrots. This is important if you are developing the deep, rich sandy loam where you will grow your carrots. Let’s talk color! While the majority of carrots are still orange, today you can plant white, yellow, black or even purple carrot seeds. How fun is that?

Carrot seed is easy to grow directly sown in the garden soil, but if you’re worried about planting your carrot seed, try our easy carrot seed tape that you simply lay into the soil, and it will do the rest for you.
