Catalina™ Grandiflora Rose

Catalina™ Grandiflora Rose

Blooms finish in varying shades of warm apricot-pink and yellow.

A dependable and prolifically blooming rose, Catalina™ wows with its peachy-pink apricot blooms and subtle tea rose scent. One of the finest for cutting, this grandiflora makes a lovely addition to the garden as well as the vase.

These 4½-inch blooms contain 35 to 40 petals with a dark pink reverse. They are classically shaped with pointed ovoid buds opening into immense, high-centered, very full-petaled flowers on long, strong, 16- to 20-inch stems. There is no more beautiful cut-flower!

The blooms appear in flushes throughout their early summer to late summer season, arising in clusters of three to five per stem and finishing in varying shades of warm apricot-pink and yellow. They stand out dramatically against the glossy, dark green foliage. The attractive plant grows to 5 feet high and 4 feet wide and is ideal for a number of applications, including beds, borders, and of course, the cut garden.

Plant in well-drained soil in full sun. Spring pruning is recommended. Old and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross need to be cut back. Gardeners in warmer climates should cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while those in colder areas will probably want to prune a little more than that.
