Cora® Cascade XDR Lavender with Eye Vinca, an F1 hybrid, is an evergreen tender perennial, usually grown as an annual, that blooms throughout the season, from late spring often until first frost. This improved vinca is not only highly floriferous but also extremely disease resistant to multiple strains of aerial Phytophthora. So, this vinca blankets its trailing stems of healthy foliage in large, high-quality flowers for cascades of fabulous long-lasting color. And these lavender flowers, sporting a white eye, attract pollinators, especially butterflies.
A Catharanthus roseus cultivar, commonly called vinca, periwinkle, or Madagascar periwinkle, Cora Cascade XDR Lavender with Eye has improved uniformity; a mounding, spreading habit; and vigorous growth. This vinca is a great ground cover, but it's ideal for containers and hanging baskets.
Tough, easy to grow, and low maintenance, vinca grows best in a sunny or dappled to part shade location with moist, well-draining soil, having an acidic pH around 6.0. But it tolerates a range of soils. The plants do not need pinching or deadheading. Drought tolerant and exceptionally disease resistant. And deer and rabbits usually leave it alone.
