Blooms arise on leafless stems, really standing out brilliantly.
The blooms emerge before the leaves do, which really helps them stand out. Reminiscent of pink blooms in their puffed-out appearance and tropically bright colors, they are profuse and surprisingly long-lasting, held in almost horizontal "clotheslines" along slender stems. So graceful and they contrast beautifully against the green foliage! They do best in part shade or shady spots and are a perfect perennial for the dark corners of your landscape. They do great almost anywhere including a hedge, beds, or even in a hanging basket. Cut a few branches for the house, and let the rest light up the spring perennial border!
