Description

The carnation of petunias

So extravagantly ruffled and fully held that Double Cascade Mix Hybrid Double Petunias look like giant carnations instead of petunias, the blooms in this splendid mix are the most colorful, extra-large, fancy grandifloras it has ever been my pleasure to grow. You will simply love them in baskets and pots, borders and beds, over a long summer season.

Double Cascade Mix Hybrid Double Petunia was bred for good weather resistance, and the blooms won't collapse in the first summer storm that comes along. Their many-petalled form looks as dainty as watered silk, but holds its shape remarkably well. And the plant is quite compact, adding to the effect of large, frilly color.

Mix Includes 5 colors that have made Double Cascade a home gardener's favorite:
Burgundy, the deep carmine-maroon that looks like velvet.
Orchid Mist, the extra-large flowered.
Lavender-pink splashed with white, pink, the classic bright bubble-gum hue.
Soft Pink, the powdery version of traditional pink.
Rich Deep Blue, the perfect complement to all the glorious pinks.

These frilly, petal-packed blooms are one of the best sources of lush color for the garden or container. Double Cascade Mix Hybrid Double Petunia boasts flowers 3 to 3½-inches across, erupting all over plants 10 to 15 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. Plan for a long, colorful show from this premium mix.

Double Cascade Mix Hybrid Double Petunias are unrivalled for long-lasting color in the border, patio containers, window boxes, and hanging baskets. They bring in the butterflies with their clear, glowing blooms, and are quite low-maintenance. Start seeds indoors 5 to 6 weeks before the last frost date. Transplant into the sunny garden after danger of frost is past.

Great Germination

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

I just planted these seeds indoors under my grow light a few weeks ago. I’ve never started petunias indoors, and the super small seeds weren’t the easiest to handle. The package said it contained 35 seeds, but I didn’t count them as I planted. So far, I have 38 little sprouts!

Planted these in my aerogarden in October.... still blooming in at the end of April..... such a nice pop of color over the long cold winter.

High germination rate!

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I was pessimistic at the beginning because I've never had any success flowers, especially those with small seeds. I carelessly sprinkled the whole package (35 seeds) into a seedling tray. To my surprise all of them germinated (I couldn't count them individually, but obviously very high germination rate)!!! Next year I will grow them again but space the seeds carefully in groups of three.

So pretty!

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

These petunias are truly gorgeous!! Huge blooms on healthy plants. The only reason I took off a star is the germination rate was only 60%. Would absolutely buy again, though!

Beautiful but common mix

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

They should try to make other color blends like blue and yellow, it's a basic flower seed mix that anyone would love.
