Everyone loves the Nano™ series of compact, big-flowered Geraniums from seed. In full bloom, these are nothing but large, rounded, super-bright flowerheads banked by a little dark green foliage! Never more than a foot high, they blanket themselves in long-lasting color that butterflies love. Be sure to add some to the container garden, the indoor winter garden, and the sunny to shaded annual bed this season!
This collection brings you 5 of the brightest and best Nano™ colors for a low price! These are 5 separate seed packets, NOT a mix, so you can design color plantings (may be suggest Deep Rose with Pink for a particularly "hot" look?! And White with everything!) All of these colors are uniform in size and bloomtime: no matter which look you choose, you will find that the plants reach about 5 to 12 inches high and 8 to 10 inches wide, flowering nonstop from early summer into early fall. Few things in life are certain, but the Nanos™ are known for their consistency!
The compact size of these Pelargonium hybrids comes from short internodes and leaf stems, which keep the foliage tight, bushy, and small. And this plant won't stretch or get scraggly, even during winter indoors. Take cuttings at any point; you will want to share the Nano™ beauty with gardening friends, as well as replenish your own stock!
Grow Nano outdoors in well-drained garden soil or a container filled with good quality potting mix. It is somewhat drought tolerant, but will flower best if kept watered regularly and fed periodically throughout the growth period. If using a container, let the plant become a bit potbound, and allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Nano will repay you with months of color!
Indoors, Nano™ loves a bright, sunny window and lots of plant food. Rotate the pot regularly to make sure all sides of the plant receive plenty of sunlight. It should bloom right through winter with this care!
This collection contains 5 seed packets in all: 1 of each color.
Primarily grown as a bedding and container plant (planters, window boxes, hanging baskets), it is also useful as filler in the border and grown indoors in the house or conservatory. Pelargonium x hortorum, Zonal Geranium, is one plant that everyone knows by name. Plants grow 15-24 inches tall and produce 5 inch heads of pink, salmon, red, and white. Leaves are heart shaped from 3-5 inches across and have scalloped margins. They often have a darker green zone in the center of them, thus the common name

Heirloom Seeds are open-pollinated -- they are not hybrids. You can gather and save heirloom seed from year to year and they will grow true to type every year, so they can be passed down through generations. To be considered an heirloom, a variety would have to be at least from the 1940's and 3 generations old (many varieties are much older -- some 100 years or more!).
Hybrid seed are the product of cross-pollination between 2 different parent plants, resulting in a new plant/seed that is different from the parents. Unlike Heirloom seed, hybrid seed need to be re-purchased new every year (and not saved). They usually will not grow true to type if you save them, but will revert to one of the parents they were crossed with and most likely look/taste different in some way.
