Description

Large, hot pink panicles on tall purple stems

Bask in blazing pink tones all summer with this glamorous new cultivar: Phlox 'Glamour Girl'. This long-legged beauty sets its hot coral pink florets on tall, graceful purple stems, making a bold statement in the border or vase. With exceptional tolerance of heat, humidity, and powdery mildew, as well as highly fade-resistant color, Phlox 'Glamour Girl' stays gorgeous while all others are starting to fade.

Hardy garden phlox is the backbone of the summer garden, providing continuous blooms from midsummer till the colder temperatures of fall. Nothing is easier or more rewarding to grow for the sunny border, and the cut flowers are delightful in the vase. After Phlox 'Glamour Girl' becomes established, the bloom show grows even larger and more abundant. And you will want plenty for the garden, since these beautiful blooms are also great at attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.

Select a spot in full sun or light shade with well-drained, moisture-retentive soil, deeply-worked (for good root development) and enriched with organics. Phlox are heavy feeders; you will want to keep the soil rich. Avoid overhead watering to prevent mildew—their biggest enemy—and keep the plants deadheaded to encourage even heavier blooming. For better-branched plants, try pinching out the tips of young plants when they are about 9 inches high. Zones 4 to 8.
