Description

Big, colorful blooms bring in the butterflies

Put this native perennial at the top of your list of "gotta get". No sun-loving plant can top black-eyed Susan for vigor, beauty, and beneficial garden presence. From the butterflies it brings in to the deer it turns away, Goldsturm is unbeatable.

From midsummer into fall, this bushy, well-branched little plant sets dozens upon dozens of 3-inch daisies, each with long, slender yellow gold petals around a dark brown cone. Pollinators flock to feast, first on the nectar of summer and then on the dried seeds of autumn. The blooms are terrific for cutting, but make such an alluring pool of gold in the sunny garden, you'll hate to part with even one.

And no plant is easier to grow. This black-eyed Susan stands up to heat, humidity, drought, poor soil, and other environmental stresses. It repels destructive pests and welcomes in beneficial bugs and pollinators. Diseases do not generally trouble it. It makes itself at home in just about any sunny spot with decent soil drainage.

Goldsturm was developed in Germany from the Native American wildflower. Its name means "gold storm," and that's just what it will deliver. Highly recommended for every garden.
