A miniature variety, Hosta 'Curly Fries' is an herbaceous perennial offering summer interest. Grown for its ornamental foliage, this petite hosta has lance-shaped, extremely rippled, pale chartreuse leaves that grow brightest with some sunshine, preferably morning sun. Borne on 16-inch-long scapes, star-like lavender flowers bloom in early summer, attracting hummingbirds.
Highly versatile, Hosta 'Curly Fries' has a compact, mounded habit and a medium growth rate. Tolerant of air pollution, it grows well in containers in city environments. It's shown to best effect when grouped or massed in beds and borders, and it makes nice edging.
Easy to grow and low maintenance, Hosta 'Curly Fries' prefers dappled to full shade and rich, moist, well-drained soil. Plants should not be allowed to dry out. The plant is sun tolerant and slug resistant.
