Brighten the cutting garden, annual bed, the vegetable patch, or containers with this exciting new Calendula! Orange Mandarin in a compact but very well-branched and free-flowering variety with double blooms of deep, rich orange. They stand out brilliantly in any setting, and hold well in garden or vase. Blooming all summer and well into fall on easy-care, floriferous plants, these flowers are a joy!
Calendula is so useful in the garden and the vase. You will find these flowers just indispensible in indoor arrangements, yet the plant is too charming to be relegated to the cutting garden. Instead, set a generous planting in the rear of the sunny to partly-shaded bed or border and pick all the blooms you want over the super-long two-season bloomtime! And, of course, it's a big pest-fighter in the vegetable garden, so dress up the greens with some hot color!
One of the few annuals that makes the summer-to-fall leap without losing petal power, this Calendula is a lovely companion to cool-season Asters. It doesn't mind a little shade in warm climates, but blazes best in full sun farther north. Expect it to reach just 10 inches high and 6 to 8 inches wide. Pkt is 50 seeds.
Long-lasting daisy-like blooms for cutting are borne on an easy-togrow plant used for edging, borders, containers, and greenhouses. Some blooms may have medicinal value. Upright, busy plants reach 8-24 inches tall and 8-12 inches wide. Daisy-like 3-5 inch blooms of orange, yellow, or apricot arise from early summer till frost, in single or double-flowered forms. Oblong dark green foliage, 4-6 inches long, has a sticky texture

When packing our seeds, the majority are actually done by hand (with extreme care!), and we often over-pack them, so you're receiving more than the stated quantity.
The Park Seed Gold Standard
Heirloom Seeds are open-pollinated -- they are not hybrids. You can gather and save heirloom seed from year to year and they will grow true to type every year, so they can be passed down through generations. To be considered an heirloom, a variety would have to be at least from the 1940's and 3 generations old (many varieties are much older -- some 100 years or more!).
Hybrid seed are the product of cross-pollination between 2 different parent plants, resulting in a new plant/seed that is different from the parents. Unlike Heirloom seed, hybrid seed need to be re-purchased new every year (and not saved). They usually will not grow true to type if you save them, but will revert to one of the parents they were crossed with and most likely look/taste different in some way.
