The South Carolina Festival of Flowers is here again, and with it Flower Day at Park Seed on June 22, 2013. As always, we have a fun day planned as we throw open our 9-acre trial gardens and Garden Outlet to visitors. Load up the car, bring the camera and the cold water, and plan to make a day of it in Hodges, South Carolina! Park Seed is an All-America Selection test site, so we are honored to grow all of the 2014 AAS nominees, along with more than 2,000 other varieties. You’ll find burgeoning vegetable gardens here, rows and rows of the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen, and theme gardens (butterfly, drought-tolerant, etc.) with trees, shrubs, and perennials galore. Our horticulturists are on hand to offer guided tours through the gardens and to answer all your questions about the plants you see growing at Park Seed. Everyone at Park eagerly looks forward to the day when we get to meet our customers, so please feel free to introduce yourself and tell us about your garden! In addition to the guided tours, we have several talks planned for the day. A Clemson University Extension Agent will speak about Crepemyrtles, a local beekeeper will tell us how to attract these valuable visitors into our gardens, and an expert on plant pests will give us much-needed information about controlling the threats to our garden plants. Best of all, you can find savings of up to 90% on seeds and plants in our Garden Outlet! We celebrate Flower Day each year with incredible deals, but quantities are limited, so come early (that’s a good idea anyway, because of the June heat!) and make sure you have room in the trunk for fabulous new trees, shrubs, plants, bulbs, and seeds! Picnic tables dot the entrance to the gardens, and food and drink from local Greenwood vendors will be available. We have plenty of parking, and we’ll even drive you (and all your Garden Outlet goodies!) back to your car in one of our golf carts! So dress for warm weather, bring the whole family, and we’ll see you at Flower Day! P.S. Do you live in or close to Greenwood, South Carolina? This year, we’re opening the gardens and the sales early – on Tuesday, June 18th. Beat the crowds and save! |
