Prevail Bean Seeds

Description

The Most Productive Bush Bean Ever!

Doesn't mind heat and thrives in heavy soils!

55 days from direct sowing.

We are delighted to introduce Prevail, hands-down the most productive bush bean we have ever grown! In our trial gardens, Prevail yielded huge crops over an extra-long season -- we picked the beans 6 times during a single season. We have never experienced yields like this -- especially not in hot, humid South Carolina!

And these aren't your average beans. Prevail sets dark green, straight, rounded pods about 5½ inches long, packed with nutritious seeds. Very uniform (great news if you're a canner), the beans are richly flavored, with a homegrown taste no supermarket variety can compete with. Prepare to become spoiled -- Prevail will be your go-to bean!

Very well suited to growing temperatures above 90 degrees F, Prevail also does well in heavy and clay soils. Many beans will stop blooming when the temperatures climb in summer, but Prevail keeps right on going, so your initial very heavy yield is followed by several more! Great for long-season summers, Prevail extends your harvest time wonderfully.

Bush beans are super-easy to grow. You'll want to wait until the soil warms up in spring to sow the seeds. Space them about 2 to 4 inches apart, pushing the seeds an inch or so deep into the soil. You should see the sprouts in 1-2 weeks. If you are growing both bush and pole beans, expect the bush beans to mature a few weeks ahead of their pole cousins.

During the growth, mulch the plants in well to keep moisture in the soil. Beans are shallow-rooted, and they can be watered several times a week in the heat of the summer. Light feeders, they actually improve the soil as they grow, helping fix nitrogen that plants need for optimal growth. And after you harvest the last delicious bean, be sure to chop up the plants and plow them right back into the soil. You'll have a great head start on next year's crop by building up the soil!

Delicious right off the plant!

I grew these for the first time last summer. I had never grown bush beans before. These beans never made it into my kitchen. I ate them all in the garden, right off the plant!

Great Beans

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

These Beans were the best tasting beans. I picked them 6 times. I pulled the plants to let the soil rest after 2 solid months of picking huge quantities of beans and the plants were still setting blooms after a rain.

Best Ever Green Bean

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

We have been growing green beans for 30 years and have tried all kinds of varieties. We have never found a bean as good as Prevail. The germination was really something; on the order of 97%. The production was just amazing. We picked four times (we usually average about two. Sometimes three). There were no sports or throwbacks. The flavor is fantastic fresh, frozen or canned.
