Sevillana® Shrub Rose

Sevillana® Shrub Rose

Red Blooms from Spring Until Frost, Followed by Scarlet Fruit!

Sevillana® is a shrub rose to be cherished, a classic French variety gardeners have trusted for decades!

This tireless bloomer offers brilliant red color from spring until first frost in most climates. Dense clusters of true-red blooms, each fully double and 3 inches across, arise continuously among healthy green foliage. When the blooms finally pass, they are followed by masses of rich scarlet fruit (rose hips) from fall into winter! The birds love these hips, and so will you!

Splendid as a hedge or mass planting, Sevillana™ reaches 3 to 4 feet tall, 2 to 3 feet wide. An early-spring pruning of the top growth is the only maintenance required. Space plants 2 feet apart for a nice solid line of coverage as a hedge or living wall.

The Meidiland or House of Meilland family of shrub roses is one of the most exciting developments in the plant world. Long before the Knock Outs arrived, the Meidilands were breeding long-blooming, disease-resistant, densely-branched shrub roses for garden beauty. These roses can be enjoyed year-round as landscape shrubs!

Like all Meidiland roses, Sevillana® is easy to grow, needing little attention and, unlike most Hybrid Teas and Floribunda types, not prone to foliar disease. This lovely rose adds mass color to the garden, and remains appealing even when not in bloom, for its foliage is dense and healthy, even at summer's end! Even if a tough winter nips this shrub back, it bounces back in spring, better than ever! Zones 5-9.
